The motor starts automatically when you start pedalling and shuts off automatically when you stop pedalling. The bike also has a one-button assist function, so you can switch on the electric motor to help you on a steep hill, for example. The motor can also be easily switched off if you want, so the whole bike runs on muscle power alone.
